2021 Giving Day a Success https://www.juniorleagueofgreensboro.org/2021-giving-day-a-success/ Thu, 08 Apr 2021 00:33:24 +0000 https://www.juniorleagueofgreensboro.org/?p=4135 giving day logo

On March 9, 2021 the League held our second annual Giving Day fundraiser. The fundraiser’s theme, “It’s great to be ninety-three,” honored our 93rd birthday and the work we have accomplished over the years in the Greensboro community.

Giving Day supports the mission of the Junior League of Greensboro to improve the community while training volunteers. The annual event is a wonderful opportunity for members to share the impact of the League while gaining training in fundraising. Members wore red, posted on social media, and made over 600 calls, detailing the community programs that donations support and sharing their reasons for giving.

Thanks to the efforts of the Giving Day committee, JLG leadership, and our members, 2021 Giving Day was a huge success. The League raised over $30,000, surpassing our $10,000 goal.

We couldn’t have done it without those who graciously gave. We are especially grateful to our contributors who invested $500 or more in our Giving Day campaign: Cheryl Callahan, Cara and Pete Derounian, CSM Flooring, Tiffany Franks, Sarah and Chad Hilty, Martha Peete, Suzanne Plihcik, Nancy May, Ashley Nosek, Ashley Staton Scott, and Peg Hall Williams.

We are also grateful for our company participants of in-kind donations for our social media raffles hours and our mailer: Aspen Boutique, Chick-fil-A Brassfield, CSM Flooring, Loaded Grape, Piedmont Direct, Scent Workshop, U.S. National Whitewater Center, and Wolfe Homes.

Thanks to the efforts of many, Giving Day helped us impact the community while training volunteers, the perfect way to celebrate our 93rd birthday.
