ArtQuest
The Green Hill Center for NC Art opened ArtQuest in 1996, a highly acclaimed hands-on art gallery for children. Facilitators help children and families explore art processes and learn in a nurturing environment. Volunteers will also assist with the development of new exhibits.

Autism Research Project
The Junior League of Greensboro has been instrumental in starting many agencies within our community. Presently research is under way on the possibility of an Autism School Project. Volunteers will develop a survey for licensed daycare centers to aid in determining need and services already in existence.

BackPack Program
The Back Pack Program aims to address childhood hunger by providing elementary school children at risk of hunger with backpacks full of nutritious, child-friendly foods to take home over the weekends during the school year.

Bargain Box
The Bargain Box a fundraiser for the Junior League of Greensboro for over 61 years, is a thrift shop that sells gently used clothing and household items to the Greensboro community. Junior League members, as well as community members, retailers and corporations donate items to the shop. The Bargain Box also partners with our community organizations such as the Women's Resource Center, Guilford County Health Department and the Department of Social Services to assist in serving their clients.

Freedom House
Freedom House is a faith based program providing transitional housing and life skills training in a supportive
family environment for women in recovery and their children. Volunteers will provide a variety of life skill mentoring sessions with the women at the house.

Girl Charge
The mission of Girl CHARGE, Inc is to create community awareness of and to foster change in the social norms and culture of girls in our community. Girl CHARGE helps create environments of acceptance and respect through youth programming and community education.

Hands On Help
Volunteers will work with local organizations on a variety of concentrated one or two day events throughout the year. A trained core of Junior League volunteers will aid in filling one-time, "Done in a Day" projects.

Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement's vision is for all students, regardless of background and financial circumstances, to understand the enterprise system, value economics and business, practice ethical decision making and understand the importance of staying in school to create opportunities for self-sufficiency and success in adulthood. Strong focus on work readiness and financial literacy.

Kids In The Kitchen
We distribute educational booklets to elementary and middle school aged children.
We also staffed educational nutrition stations set up in the coliseum during the ACC Women's Tourney. The stations educated the children and parents about:
• Portion Distortion, addressing the correct portion sizes
• Rethink Your Drink, addressing the amount of sugar in some popular beverages
• Wheels for Wellness, teaching participants to make healthy snack choices
• And an exciting exercise station

Nursery Supply Store
Located in the Bargain Box, the Nursery Supply Store benefits Medicaid eligible expecting mothers that have attended prenatal classes. Volunteers assist with day-to-day operations of the Bargain Box and the Nursery Supply Store.

Sanctuary House's mission is to facilitate the recovery and rehabilitation of adults with serious mental illness in Guilford County so that they may achieve and sustain satisfying, meaningful roles and lives in the community.

Saturday Academy
Operation Homework's seeks to transform the lives of underserved populations by empowering individuals and families with life skills and the support needed to become responsible citizens prepared to succeed in higher education, careers and service to the community. There is a strong focus on literacy.

SibShops:Family Support Network
FSN serves families whose children have been diagnosed with a special need or chronic illness or who have been born prematurely. Junior League volunteers will assist with the FSN Sibshops program. This program offers an opportunity for the siblings of special needs children to get together monthly and share their experiences. Volunteers coordinate a meal and an activity for children.

Touch A Truck
Touch a Truck is a community festival that provides an interactive learning experience for children of all ages to explore many varieties of transportation in a carnival-type atmosphere. Kids can:
DISCOVER over 20 vehicles including police cars, tractors, dump trucks, ambulances, garbage trucks, 18 wheelers and much, much more. In some vehicles, kids can even climb inside and check out the controls!
CREATE arts and crafts, have their face painted, and learn about healthy eating habits with an interactive exhibit from Kids in the Kitchen.
BE ENTERTAINED with bouncy houses, gigantic slides, magicians, music, dancing and many more fun activities

Y.W.O.R.L.D.
The Y.W.O.R.L.D. vision is that youth who are underserved are given the same opportunities as privileged youth in Greater Greensboro through academic support, exposing youth to academic and career opportunities and development of goal setting skills.
